Main Exhibiting Artists
Debbie Page – Professional Potter
Debbie is an experienced potter with many years of teaching adults from beginners and onwards. She predominantly uses hand-building techniques to form her own work, e.g pinching, coiling and slab building although she does occasionally throw on the wheel. Debbie’s work is inspired by the ceramics of Korea and Japan – strong simple forms with lively glazes and different firing methods.
Debbie is very keen to pass on her enthusiasm for pottery and ceramics – She likes to show people that with simple techniques they can make something they can be proud of. Debbie firmly believes creativity to be essential for the human soul and that everyone is capable of being creative – you just have to find to right thing for you!

Andrew McCaffrey – Charcoal & Pastel Artist
Andrew has always had a love of and for art. When he was very young he even won a competition for submitting a watercolour to Blue Peter! After leaving school he went to Hornsey College of Art to do a foundation course. His career has spanned creative product design, engineering and photography.
Andrew mainly works in charcoal, an already tricky medium to work in, not to mention that he is also left-handed. Taking a layered and methodical approach to his work, he loves to play with challenging subjects and different dynamics.
Karen Collette Tomalin – Contemporary Textile Artist
Karen started machine sewing in 2014 when she was shown the basic techniques by a friend, her hobby has since taken off and evolved into a passion. Karen loves free motion quilting and creative piecing. She creates unique hand crafted bed quilts or wall hangings, fabric appliqué and stitched pictures.
In 2018 Karen started to exhibit her work of pieces she had created for fun or for friends and family. She was so surprised by the response and reaction of people who came, or wandered in, that she has continued to exhibit her work and taken commissions.
Karen’s work evolves from the patterns and colour found in nature. She is inspired by the German Expressionists, Fauvists and Matisse and revels in strong colour and bold shapes.
Andrew Field – Pencil & Watercolour Artist
As a local artist Andrew likes to discover the nature of a place through its shapes and textures. This inspiration can range from the rich architectural carvings in local historic buildings, providing a treasure trove of antiquity which he likes to sketch and paint in watercolour.
From the natural beauty of the Chiltern countryside, to the small wonders that visit our gardens, nature provides much inspiration. From the swooping Kites to the darting flash of the Kingfisher by the river bank, Andrew likes to capture their grace and fleeting colours. The visiting squirrels and garden birds, have recently focused his interest in natures smaller creatures and their many shapes and forms, which Andrew captures in graphite pencil.
