Working on one large canvas, as a family you will create one large piece of beautiful mixed media art ready to hang in your home and enjoy for a lifetime.
We will present multiple little creative challenges, questions and options, that as a family you have to work together or individually to express onto your large canvas. Over the course of the session the canvas will build up layers of colour, marks, words, images and patterns, all a creative expression of each person in the family.
Choose from a selection of famous artists and their works and together we will guide you through the steps to recreate your chosen work of art in the form of a multi-panel canvas painting. Each person will get to paint their own section of the painting on a smaller square canvas, which will then come together at the end to form one large painting.
We will supply you with a list of artists and works that you can choose from such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Kandinsky and more! Or if you have a specific painting or image you’d love to capture…let us know.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s well-known pop art silk-screen paintings of Marilyn Monroe, this workshop allows each family member to delve into a fun filled session of portrait painting. Each person will get to paint another member of the group and pose for someone too (in whatever facial expression they choose).
At the end of the session you will have a gallery of pop-art style mugshots on canvas to capture your fun-filled family event.
A brilliantly expressive way to bring together your memories in one piece of art. We will share with you lots of ideas and techniques from colour, texture and mark-making, but ultimately this session is about freedom of expression and an ‘anything goes’ process-driven approach.
We encourage you to bring along with you items of interest that can be included into your artwork, such as photographs, mementos from days out/experiences, magazine cut-outs, special fabric swatches, items of interest like dried flowers and much more.
