About The Art Exhibitions…
Solo Art Show
During the recent pandemic Scarlet Page captured 60 children through a series of portraits of them with their comfort toys. The aim to capture the essence of the children, socially distanced with their ‘Buddy’ – comfort toy for reassurance. The images are captivating and powerful but show the resilience of the children at coping with such strange times.
As a follow on from her series of portraits, Scarlet’s latest project captures artists in their studios spaces. For everyone the pandemic has hit everyone on so many levels – be it emotionally, financially or wellbeing. The creative industries especially has struggled through this difficult period. Much like the comfort toys of the children artists seek solace and reassurance in ‘making art.’ Through a series of photographic portraits Scarlet aims to capture the artists in their ‘creative spaces’ – in the space they love – that feels safe, that reflects creativity and resilience through every mark made on canvas or clay.
The solo show will feature portraits of Creative Locale artists, who have come together during the COVID19 pandemic to create a supportive creative community where artists can thrive.
Scarlet is internationally recognised as one of the world’s best-known music photography icons, having photographed legendary musicians such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney and Stereophonics for magazine covers including Q, Mojo, The Sunday Times and many more. Plus album artwork including Stereophonics ‘Performance and Cocktails’ James Blunt’s ‘Moon Landing’ and The Verve’s ‘A Northern Soul.’ She’s even travelled America with The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beastie Boys. She has also had multiple exhibitions of her work including at The Royal Albert Hall, Proud Gallery and Camden.
Group Art Show
In 2019 a new online art gallery was formed called Creative Locale. It wasn’t just another online gallery though. Underpinning the artists’ ‘shop’ is a group of 30 creatives who have come together to support each other, mentor each other and work together. As well as selling their work, they meet monthly, connect almost daily, teach art to the community and participate in exhibitions together.
The separate group show called ‘Grounded’ by Creative Locale artists, explores the concept of change and transformation. A physical, emotional and spiritual process we as humans, as a society and as a planet, have to navigate throughout our lives.
Through one theme the artists, who all work in different mediums, will respond to and create their own artistic interpretation of ‘Grounded.’ You will see paintings, photography, sculpture and mixed media. The exhibition brings together a truly unique collection of art that once again celebrates creativity and resilience, and brings together the community through the medium of art.
