Never worked with clay before or not since school?
Dabbled and loved it but a bit rusty?

Come along and experience this truly mindful workshop. Open to all abilities and run by our talented Master Maker and TV’s Great British Pottery Throwdown contestant Elaine Wells.

In this Workshop…

You will use an endless variety of found objects to produce a design on a slab of clay which you will then make into a plate. With endless possibilities you can create a pattern or random design in the clay, no drawing skills are needed!

You will have time to make up to 6 small plates. You will also have the opportunity to make an impress stamp from clay with a carved design to be fired and used on your future clay projects or in pastry or icing! You are welcome to bring design ideas with you or any found objects that might make a mark in the clay or just wait to see what your imagination comes up with when you look in Ealine’s collection of items.

At the end of the workshop, Elaine will need to take your plates back to her studio to fire and glaze them. All your wonderful creations will have a white glaze put on them and will then be microwave, dishwasher and oven proof. Your items will be available for collection after approximately 4-5 weeks from the MadebyTamalia studio.

Please bring with you to the workshop: All aprons, materials, tools and equipment will be provided, however please bring with you an old towel.

Workshop Date:
